Afton Delvecchio

Meet

Registered Dietitian

Hi, I’m Afton! I earned my bachelor’s degrees in Food, Nutrition & Dietetics and Exercise Science from Illinois State University in 2012, where I also played Division I soccer. I went on to complete my Master of Science in Community Nutrition at Southern Illinois University–Carbondale in 2014 and began practicing as a Registered Dietitian that same year.

Over the past decade, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, pediatric hospitals, pediatric outpatient clinics,
maternal-infant programs, and private practice. I believe that truly understanding a child’s needs means looking at the whole picture
of their life—home, daycare, school, and everything in between.

My passion has always been working with families to support pediatric wellness and improve quality of life. I specialize in pediatric weight management, gastrointestinal health, and general nutrition. In my practice, I strive to live by the proverb: “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.” My goal is to educate and empower families to build sustainable, long-term habits with guidance and support. I aim to expand knowledge, foster healthier relationships with food, and collaborate closely with therapists and medical professionals to provide well-rounded care.

Outside of work, I’m a mom to two elementary-aged daughters and a rescue dog, and we live in Brownsburg—Bulldog Tough! In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer, weightlifting, CrossFit, reading, and traveling both within the U.S. and internationally to visit family. My older daughter has recently discovered a love for baking—which means I’ve discovered it too, at least until she’s a little older and safer in the kitchen!
I also work in private practice supporting adults as they work toward their health and fitness goals.
