Speech Language Therapy
At One Mind, Speech Language Therapy helps strengthen communication, language processing, and social interaction skills by understanding how a child’s mind, body, and environment work together. Our Speech Language Therapists support children and adolescents in building the skills they need to express themselves, understand others, and engage confidently in everyday interactions, whether at home, at school, or in social settings.
As part of our collaborative, multidisciplinary team, speech therapy at One Mind is thoughtfully integrated with other supports, creating care that feels connected, personalized, and meaningful for the whole family.
Speech Language Therapy
Our therapists support articulation, expressive and receptive language, social communication, and fluency, always considering how communication connects to emotional regulation and daily functioning.
Speech Language Therapists support families with:
Articulation
Expressive Language
Receptive Language
Social Pragmatics
Reading & Literacy
Profacial Myofunctional & Feeding

Articulation
Articulation supports clear, confident speech by helping individuals learn to produce sounds so they are easily understood by others.
This support is helpful for children, teens, and adults who struggle with sound substitutions, omissions, distortions, or speech patterns that impact clarity. Difficulties with articulation can affect communication at school, work, and in social relationships, often leading to frustration or reduced confidence when expressing ideas.
Therapy focuses on building awareness of sound placement, coordination of the mouth and speech muscles, and consistent practice in meaningful contexts. Skills are developed gradually and reinforced in ways that carry over into everyday conversations, not just structured sessions.
Expressive language
Expressive language is the ability to clearly and effectively share thoughts, ideas, needs, and emotions through spoken language, writing, or other forms of communication.
This is helpful for individuals who have difficulty finding the right words, forming sentences, organizing ideas, or expressing themselves in ways others understand. Expressive challenges can manifest differently across the lifespan, from early language delays to academic demands, social interactions, and workplace communication.
Building vocabulary, sentence structure, and language organization while strengthening communication confidence so individuals can express themselves more comfortably in daily conversations, learning environments, and relationships.

Receptive Language
Receptive language helps to understand and process spoken, written, and visual information in everyday communication.
This can be helpful if you have difficulty following directions, understanding questions, processing information, or making sense of language in conversations, classrooms, or fast-paced environments. Receptive language challenges can impact learning, relationships, and confidence across all stages of life.
Practice plans are tailored to real-world settings and build comprehension skills such as listening, processing, and interpreting meaning.
Social Pragmatics
Social pragmatics is the set of skills needed to use language effectively in social interactions, including understanding social cues, taking turns in conversation, adjusting communication for different settings, and building meaningful connections with others.
Challenges may include difficulty interpreting body language or tone, staying on topic, understanding perspective, or navigating friendships, group conversations, or workplace interactions.
The therapy focuses on developing awareness, flexibility, and practical communication strategies that feel natural and usable in real life. Skills are practiced within meaningful contexts so individuals can build confidence in relationships, social problem-solving, and everyday interactions.
