Abby Guedel

Meet

Occupational Therapist

Hello! My name is Abby, and I am a pediatric occupational therapist originally from Elkhart, Indiana. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from IUPUI and later returned to complete my Doctor of Occupational Therapy in 2023. After graduating, I chose to remain in Indianapolis and have focused my professional career on supporting children with developmental delays and various disabilities through outpatient pediatric and early intervention services.

My passion for working with children began early. In high school, I took several child development classes, worked at my school’s daycare center, and volunteered with an equine-assisted therapy program supporting individuals with disabilities. After completing my undergraduate degree, I worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), where I was first introduced to occupational therapy and quickly fell in love with the field.

As a pediatric OT, I use a collaborative, family-centered approach, focusing on what matters most to each child and their family. My areas of interest include sensory processing and sensory modulation, emotional regulation, motor skills, executive functioning, and parent coaching. I enjoy incorporating movement, mindfulness, journaling, and sensory-based strategies to support children’s emotional well-being, regulation skills, and independence in everyday life.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two dogs, doing yoga, reading and listening to audiobooks, cooking and baking, traveling, and staying active outdoors through walking and rollerblading!
