Helping children, adolescents, and young adults navigate life's challenges is both my passion and my purpose. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate, I provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and accepted. Using a person-centered approach grounded in empathy and active listening, I meet clients where they are and work collaboratively to build confidence, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful change.
I work with children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, emotional regulation difficulties, executive functioning challenges, low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, school-related stress, life transitions, adjustment concerns, and grief. My primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while integrating DBT, Humanistic, Existential, Play, Nature, and Art Therapy techniques to meet each client's unique strengths and goals. Together, we explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical skills that foster resilience, emotional wellness, and healthy relationships.
Growing up in a family of educators inspired my passion for helping others. It led me to earn a bachelor's degree in Education and dual master's degrees in School Counseling and Mental Health Counseling. For more than 20 years, I have served as a school counselor, middle school teacher, and coach, partnering each year with more than 200 students, families, educators, and community professionals. This experience has given me a unique understanding of the academic, social, and emotional challenges children, adolescents, and young adults face today.
Because of my background in education, I have a special interest in helping students and young adults navigate school-related stress, academic pressure, executive functioning challenges, anxiety, perfectionism, college and career transitions, identity development, and the social and emotional demands that accompany these important stages of life. I believe counseling is built on trust, collaboration, and mutual respect, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they move toward healing, resilience, and personal growth.
Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with my family, cheering on my kids at their sporting events, walking and riding bikes, traveling, learning about gemstones, and taking our dachshund for walks. I believe balance and self-care are essential to overall wellness, and I enjoy helping clients discover strengths and activities that support their own well-being.
