Elle Nichol

Meet

Mental Health Therapist

Hi, I’m Elle! I am a mental health therapist with One Mind, and I enjoy working with youth of all ages who are experiencing grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, emotional dysregulation, and executive functioning difficulties. I utilize an integrative approach that incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and creative techniques such as art and play therapy.

I have had a desire to help others from a young age, and that passion continued to grow throughout my educational journey. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Indiana University and later my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marian University. I had the opportunity to complete my internship with One Mind, where I gained experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds, which strengthened my commitment to supporting youth and their loved ones.

When working with families, I strive to foster a relationship grounded in compassion, collaboration, and growth. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming environment where children feel heard and understood, and where families feel supported as they navigate challenges together. I encourage children to express themselves through conversation, play, and creative activities, while also partnering with families to strengthen communication, build resilience, and deepen connections within the home. I approach each family system with respect for their unique values, cultures, and experiences, and tailor my interventions to feel meaningful and relevant to their needs.

Outside of One Mind, I enjoy spending quality time with family, friends, and my pets. I also enjoy long-distance running and participating in half-marathons with friends. In my downtime, I love listening to music, journaling, spending time in nature, and exploring new places. These activities help me be present, grounded, and engaged in my work with clients and their families.
