Eva Henderson
Meet
Mental Health Graduate Intern
Hello, I'm Eva! I am currently completing my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marian University. I have experience supporting children, adolescents, and families in behavioral health, school counseling, and inpatient mental health settings. I work with children facing anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, and behavioral concerns. I take an integrative approach to therapy by incorporating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and creative, developmentally appropriate interventions such as play, art, and music to help children build skills in ways that feel engaging and meaningful.

I know that starting therapy can feel overwhelming for both children and parents, so my priority is building genuine relationships based on trust, curiosity, and compassion. I enjoy getting to know what makes each child who they are, their interests, strengths, and the unique ways they experience the world. From there, we work together to understand difficult emotions, develop healthy coping strategies, and build confidence that extends beyond the therapy room. I believe growth happens when children feel understood, supported, and empowered to try something new.
I see therapy as a team effort. While my sessions focus on your child, I believe lasting change happens when families feel included and supported throughout the process. I'll work alongside you to better understand your child's needs, celebrate successes, navigate challenges, and provide practical tools that fit naturally into your family's daily life. I hope that you'll leave each step of the journey feeling informed, encouraged, and confident in supporting your child's continued growth.
When I'm not at One Mind, I'm usually curled up with a book and one (or both!) of my cats, Harley and Mooney. I'm a lifelong Harry Potter fan, love a cozy movie marathon when fall rolls around, and enjoy spending time with family and friends whenever I can. Whether it's finding live music, being outdoors, or discovering a new coffee shop, I love the little moments that help me recharge and bring balance to my life.
