Assistant Lead Mental Health Therapist

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in supporting children with behavioral challenges and unique needs. With a holistic, creative approach, I work to foster positive change across a child's life—home, school, social interactions, and the broader community. I am skilled at crafting personalized strategies to address difficult behaviors and at building strong, supportive relationships with both children and their families.

I’ve always felt drawn to a helping profession. After earning my Bachelor’s degree in 2002, I completed my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at Purdue, graduating in 2004. My first position after grad school was as a behavior specialist, supporting individuals with developmental disabilities through the Medicaid Waiver program. I was young and still figuring out my path within mental health, but this role turned out to be transformative. I spent over 15 years in this field, growing and learning in ways I hadn’t anticipated. Over the years, I took on various roles within community organizations and as a consultant, helping establish a behavior services department, developing policies, and mentoring fellow clinicians. Working with clients from ages 3 to 70, I gained extensive experience addressing a wide range of challenges, including self-injury, elopement, aggression, anxiety, and depression.

I’m truly grateful for my time at One Mind this past year. My therapeutic approach combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with interpersonal process theory, allowing me to examine the purpose behind behaviors and explore the patterns that keep clients feeling “stuck.” I believe that building strong, positive relationships is fundamental to creating trust and fostering meaningful change—both in therapy and in life. As a parent of 16 years, I know firsthand the challenges and joys of raising children. Forming deep connections with kids has helped me navigate life’s hurdles, and I bring that understanding into my work. By establishing trust and rapport with my clients, I help open the door to creative, meaningful growth.

I’ve enjoyed working with children navigating challenges like ADHD, anxiety, family dynamics, and anger, and I find it rewarding to collaborate with parents in supporting their children’s journey. In my role as Assistant Lead Mental Health Therapist, I have found tremendous satisfaction in meeting new families through discovery calls and welcoming them to One Mind. Supporting and supervising other clinicians has also been a passion of mine for many years, and I feel fortunate to continue this work here.

Outside of work and my book clubs, you can find me spending time with my husband, two boys, and our goofy dog, Jasper. We’re often watching our kids play sports, playing tennis, pickleball, basketball, or football as a family, or cheering on games on TV. I also enjoy playing cards and games—Euchre and Rummikub are our favorites!
