Assistant Practice Manager

As Assistant Practice Manager, I support the operational and administrative needs of One Mind, helping bridge communication between families, clinicians, and the practice team. My role centers on creating systems that feel clear and supportive, allowing clinicians to focus on care while families feel guided and informed throughout their experience.

Hi, I’m Karen, and I live in Carmel with my husband, Scott, and our three children. Our older two, Nick and Ella, attend Indiana University in Bloomington, and our youngest, Kate, is a student at Carmel High School. Much of my free time is spent cheering Kate on as she plays volleyball for both school and club teams.

Before joining One Mind, I earned my degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University and spent six years teaching in Anderson, Indiana. After having my first child, I stepped away from the classroom to focus on raising our family. During that time, I stayed busy through a variety of creative and entrepreneurial side roles, from baking themed cakes and walking dogs to painting kitchen cabinets, experiences that taught me flexibility, problem-solving, and the value of meaningful connection.

Those skills now shape how I support the One Mind team and the families we serve. I love being part of a practice that values collaboration, care, and community, and I take pride in helping create a welcoming, organized, and supportive experience from the very first interaction.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with our dogs, Ivy, our vizsla, and Tilly, our mini dachshund, exploring creative projects like woodworking and crocheting, and traveling whenever possible.
