Meet

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

I have worked in the mental health field for over 13 years,
beginning my career as a psychiatric nurse and transitioning to
a nurse practitioner role in 2016. Throughout my career, I’ve had
the opportunity to work across a variety of care settings, including inpatient and intensive outpatient programming through the St. Vincent Stress Center. I continue to serve on the medical staff as the primary provider for a therapeutic day school program supporting
school-aged children.

In addition to my work with children and families, I have provided psychiatric medication services in higher education settings, serving as the first on-campus psychiatric provider at both Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. Earlier in my career, I also spent several years working as a registered nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Riley Hospital for Children.
This experience continues to inform my approach today, allowing me to bring a strong medical foundation and a deep understanding
of complex care into my work.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish from Purdue University, my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marian University, and my Master of Science in Nursing from Indiana University, where I was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society
of Nursing. I am also certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. My passion for this area of care was shaped by my own experience navigating my oldest child’s 12-week NICU stay and witnessing firsthand the impact perinatal
mental health challenges can have on the entire family system.

I am actively involved in the local psychiatric community and previously served as President and Vice President of the Indiana Association
for Child and Adult Psychiatric Nurses from 2016 to 2023. I am also a member of Postpartum Support International (PSI), the Coalition
of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of Indiana (CAPNI), and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA).
I am a lifelong resident of Indianapolis and live here with my husband and our two children. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, visiting local museums, and serving as Vice President of the parent committee at my oldest child’s school.

At the core of my work is the belief that every individual has a unique story and deserves a personalized treatment plan.
I value collaboration with current providers, thoughtful family involvement, and evidence-informed care to support both physical
and emotional well-being.
